About Us

Arus Biru is an independent civil society organization advancing sustainable water access, community empowerment, and environmental resilience across Indonesia.

We strengthen the management, utilization, and control of water resources through an integrated water systems approach:

surface water, coastal areas, and ocean

rainwater, groundwater, and infiltration ecosystems

wastewater that is managed and reused

Our Vision

To realize an Indonesia where communities have sovereignty over water resources through sustainable, inclusive, and ecosystem-based water governance.

Our Mission

  • We strengthen local institutions and community capacity to independently manage and sustain water systems.
  • We optimize freshwater, coastal, marine, and recycled water resources to support livelihoods, food security, public health, and local development.
  • We develop ecological and technological systems to reduce water crises, pollution, flooding, drought, and environmental degradation.

Our Three Pillars

Water Governance

Strengthening local institutions and participatory water management systems.

Sustainable Utilization

Optimizing water resources for livelihoods, health, and local resilience.
